This tutorial shows how to remove objects, smudges or items from photos and images. We are using GIMP for it.
Get Necessary software:
I assume you already have GIMP. If not then go to gimp.org and download it for free. If you have GIMP then you also need Resynthesizer. Resynthesizer is a Gimp plug-in for texture synthesis. Given a sample of a texture, it can create more of that texture. For Debian and Debian based systems like Ubuntu its possible to get the plug-in from repository.Remove Object From Photo:
I picked a photo of a lamp that I made and remove the lamp with few clicks.
Selected my lamp using lasso tool:

Then go to "Filters - Map - Resynthesize..." and press OK. This might take some time.

As you can see the lamp has disappeared.
