In CKEditor 4 when you have a combination of some elements, it's possible you get a paragraph (p tag) that you can't delete with simple backspace. It is still possible to remove it and there are 2 ways to do that.

Solution 1

While Backspace deletes a character, "Ctrl + Backspace" deletes a whole word. The whole word deletion deletes the empty paragraph as well. For more information check out CKEditor4 keyboard shortcuts: https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor4/latest/features/shortcuts.html#writing

Solution 2

When you press backspace and click p tag on the breadcrumbs/hierarchy, until br appears after (as child) p. Then you can delete the paragraph as well. This is not that straight forwards and you might have to mess around more, but you don't have to remember the shortcut key.
